Toinen päivä alkoi aikaisin ja hyvin sateisena!
Meillä oli edessä vierailu Skyline Rotorualla, "a true Rotorua icon", jonka jälkeen matkaisimme Matamatalle jossa menisimme ... HOBITTILAAN!!! Tähän kohtaan järjetöntä kiljumista.
Our second day on the trip started with a rainy morning!
Our schedule for the day two : visiting at Skyline Rotorua NZ, "a true Rotorua icon", and after that we would go to Matamata and to ... HOBBITON MOVIE SET!!! Can you hear me screaming?

Aamulla ikkunasta katsoessa ulos, oli tosiaankin hyvin sateinen ja kostea keli. Se oli vähän ikävää ja arveluttavaa, koska tokihan Hobittila olisi upea missä säässä tahansa mutta olisihan se kaikista kivointa kokea auringon paistaessa! Uudessa-Seelannissa voi tosin sää muuttua jopa tunnin sisällä radikaalisti, joten ei peli ollut menetetty.
Meillä oli lähtö kello 9:30 hotellilta, ei jaksettu herätä aikaisin aamupalaa varten niin ei menty sinne ollenkaan. Mikä harmitti kun kuultiin että siellä olisi ollut pannukakkuja!! Onneksi meistä pidettiin sen verta hyvää huolta ettei nälkäkuoleman partaalle joutumisesta ollut mitään hätää, syötiin goodiebagin snackseja matkalla Skyline Rotorualle.
Skyline Rotorualla meitä odotti muutama erilainen aktiviteetti sekä super maukas lounas!
On the morning when we look out of the window, we saw rainy and moist weather. We have of course used to rainy weather in Finland, but I must say that for a while it felt a bit bad because we all would love to enjoy The Hobbiton Movie Set in sunlight ... though it would be perfect in any weather. And in New Zealand you never know what kind of weather will be during the day!
We left from the hotel lobby about 9.30 am, and we were too lazy to woke-up quite early so we skipped breakfast because we didn't have time for that. It didn't bother us until we heard there were super delicious pancakes! Noooo! Luckily our crew took very good care of us all the time during our trip, so we didn't feel ourselves hungry in any point. And this time we decided to eat some snacks from our goodiebags, after all I don't like to eat heavily at early on the morning and we would anyway have a lunch quite soon so no problemos.
At Skyline Rotorua we would have some activities to try on and yummy lunch!

Meillä oli valittavana muutamia erilaisia aktiviteettejä, joista me ei tehty yhtäkään. Ainoat jotka kiinnosti eniten, niin en päässyt niihin selkäni takia. :( En kuitenkaan uskaltanut riskeerata mitään matkan alussa ... lopussa tosin tein jotain extremeä hehee ...
Me siis päädyimme shoppailemaan pienessä putikiissa, katselimme muiden temmellyksiä, ihailemaan upeaa näköalaa sekä tietenkin syömään.
So we have a chance to do some activities, but we didn't do any. The only ones which were most interesting - I couldn't do them because of my back. :( I didn't want to risk anything because there would be still many days ahead!
So we ended up checking others doing activities, shopping, watching the flawless view and of course enjoying the tasty lunch.

Buffetit ovat tunnetusti oikeita surmanloukkuja, mutta nyt oli sellainen buffet jolle laivan buffetitkin häviävät!! SIIS!! Voi hyvä luoja että oli hyvää ruokaa. Jos nyt vertaa vaikka suomalaiseen/skandinaaviseen ruokaan, niin sanoisin että buffet-tarjoilussa ei ollut kuitenkaan yhtä paljon valinnan varaa - mikä oli mielestäni hyvä juttu. Oli myös paljon enemmän punaista lihaa, monia erilaisia pihvejä yms. Itse pysyttelin kanassa ja kalassa, mikä mukavinta oli huomata erilaisia ja maukkaita tapoja valmistaa kalaa. Myös oli paljon salaatteja sekä lämpimiä vihanneksia! Erilaisia kastikkeita, perunaa kahdella eri tapaa sekä keittoja.
Se mihin itse eniten kiinnitin huomiota, oli se että vaikka oli kyse buffetista niin jotenkin ruoka tuntui olevan puhtaampaa ja terveellisempää. Esimerkiksi perunaa oli vain kahta eri vaihtoehtoa, ja muistaakseni pastaa/nuudeleita/yms. ei ollut lainkaan tai jos olikin, niin vain yhtä versiota. Selvästi sielläpäin keskitytään enemmän lihaan ja vihanneksiin!
Sama toistui koko matkan ajan, jotain kertoo sekin että söin kyllä hyvin ja paljon, mutta en silti lihonut kiloakaan vaan päinvastoin laihduin! Toki me liikuimme paljon ja käsittämätön jännitys/ekstaasi-tärinä saattaa olla osallinen asiaan, mutta itseeni teki nimenomaan ruoka vaikutuksen kun söin sitä suht paljon mutta en lihonut. Jee! Ihmekös se kun rakastan ruokaa niin paljon. ;)
We all know buffets are quite dangerous, because you just want to eat everything. But I must say this buffet was even better than any boat-buffet where I have ever been! Note ; we have the most delicious buffets on our boats between Finland-Sweden and Finland-Estonia and those are always to die for. :P
But this food! So yummy! If I compare it to Finnish/scandinavian food, there were few things what got my attention. There weren't as much food options, like on the boat are tons of them and here of course many but not as many. In my opinion it's good to have many choices but not too much, so I really liked this one. Also there were lots of red meat, fish, chicken and vegetables, not so much potatoes etc. stuff like that. For me it looked and felt more 'cleaner' and healthier food, that we have got in here. They really focus to do these food perfectly, and here it feel sometimes they just try to do super many options and maybe don't focus so much to the food itself. Hard to explain, maybe you got the idea!
After all, I really LOVED this buffet and food. Like I loved and enjoyed about all the food what we ate during the trip. And it really is somehow healthier! I was so sure I would got few extra kilos but I actually lost weight a couple of kilos even I ate everything like it would be the end of the world. ;)
Tottakai olimme bonganneet jälkiruuat myös! Oli mousseja, hyytelöitä ja monia erilaisia kakkuja. Oli pakko ottaa kaikkia, kai sitä nyt pitää kaikkea maistaa kerta toiselle puolelle maailmaa pääsee ja kaikki vielä maksetaan? Koko rahan edestä siis! En ihan kaikkia kakkuja jaksanut syödä, mukana kun oli mutakakkuja sun muita 'raskaampia' kakkuja. Tyytyväisinä ruoka-orgasmeissa tuijotimme upeaa näkymää ikkunoista ulos Lake Rotorualle, kunnes Manesha ja Hazel ( meidän uusi-seelantilaiset pöytä-kaverit! ) tulivat pöytään sateenkaaren väreissä kylpevien jäätelö-annosten kanssa. Siinä varmaan loksahti leuka kirjaimellisesti lattiaan! Heikkouksiani mitä jälkiruokiin tulee, on ehdottomasti juustokakut, jäätelö ja suklaa. Ja sitten joku kehtaa tulla kertomaan että niin, siellä kulman takana on jäätelöjä! Jelly beans jäätelöä, cookie doughia yms!
Se on muuten ihan se ja sama missä ähkyssä silloin on, kun tuollaiset uutiset saa kuulla. Otettiin aikamoinen juoksutaksi muutaman muun jätski-hullun kanssa sinne kulman taa, ja voi pojat että ladottiin sitä jäätelöä kuppi täyteen. Otin päärynää, mangoa, cookie doughia, jelly beansia ja jotain jonka nimeä en muista. Sitten vielä suklaa- ja kinuski-kastiketta. Heitin vielä mutakakun palan koko komeuden sekaan! Olisin varmaan kiljunut nautinnosta ellei suu olisi ollut täynnä. :D En kuvaakaan ehtinyt ottaa, kun olin niin jätskien lumoissa.
Of course we saw the dessert table too! SO MUCH GOODIES! Cakes, jellys, mousses, etc. Everything! I needed to take almost everything and taste them, because they looked so pretty and of course taste super good too. When we finally finished those plates of yummy desserts, our fellow team Wizard-members Manesha and Hazel came back to our table to eat with plates full of ice cream. Excuse me?! They told us there is 'ice cream-bar' behind the corner, and we almost ran there!
Oh my God how delicious ice creams, I had to take all of them, add tons of chocolate and toffee sauce on them. And when we got back to table I throw my mudcake piece in there too. I would scream of joy and happiness but my mouth was full. It was SO delicious.
Jossain vaiheessa pystyttiin pyörimään ulos, katselemaan aluetta ja maisemaa tarkemmin sekä ottamaan hienoja kuvia. Niitä nyt tulee aika monta, mutta kun tykkään niistä kaikista!
At some point we were ready to roll out of the restaurant to outside to take photos of our new fur friends and the breathtaking view. There will be pretty much of them, I just like them all so much!

Oli jotenkin tosi outoa, kun meillä metsä tarkoittaa sitä että se on tottakai enemmän tai vähemmän täynnä kaikenlaista puuta. Uudessa-Seelannissa metsät muistuttaa ennemminkin viidakkoa! Siellä joukossa on kaikkia ihan ihme puita joita ei edes tunnista, ja oikein kuiskii tulemaan katsomaan lähempää että mikäs se tämä on. Oudon tästä tekee se, että noi metsät ei oo viidakkoa edes nähneet ... ahaa ... pelottavaa.
For me it was a bit weird, what they call here a forest. Because in my country the forest is of course full of trees, but here it looked more like rain forest! Which it might be, but if I heard right, this is nothing like rain forests. There were so many weird looking trees in the forest and we were so amazed. Who knows where is the hidden path to Mirkwood?

Näkymä oli niin upea, että en voi kuin suositella vierailemaan paikassa mikäli olet Rotorualla päin matkailemassa. Itse ainakin aion käydä tuolla uudelleen seuraavalla Uuden-Seelannin matkallani!
Sen lisäksi että se buffet huutaa mua, niin voisin tuijotella tuntikausia tota maisemaa väsymättä koskaan katsomaan sitä. On se vaan niin kaunis!
The view was so beautiful, if you ever want/will visit at Rotorua this is a place to visit! Do not miss this one. I will definitely stop there again when I go back to New Zealand!
I could watch this view for hours and never get bored to it. It is so beautiful, so awesome, just perfect.

I loooove this trip, I loooove these people, I loooove this country!
Saavuttiin Skyline Rotorualle noin kymmeneltä aamulla, ja lähtö koitti noin yhden aikaan päivällä!
Rotorualta ajaa noin tunnin Matamatalle, eli jos on aikeissa vierailla Hobittilassa ja viettää aikaa Matamatalla, niin Skyline Rotorua ei ole siitä mahdottoman matkan päässä.
Matamatalla piipahdimme I-Sitessa sekä tapasimme tulevat Hobittilan oppaamme, I-Sitesta saa ostettua Hobitti-aiheista tavaraa että lippuja Hobittilaan - niin ainakin uskon. Lippuja voi varmaan ostaa muualtakin, mutta oppaat hyppäävät matkaan I-Sitelta josta bussilla mennään Shire's Rest and gift shop eli Konnun kaupan kautta itse Hobittilaan!!!!
We arrived to Skyline Rotorua about 10.00 am and we left from there about 1.00pm! Then we had a drive to Matamata which took about an hour. So if you're for example staying at Matamata because of the Hobbiton Movie Set, I recommend you to take this one hour bus drive to Rotorua. It will be worth of it!
At Matamata we spent some time at I-Site, where we met our guides to Hobbiton Movie Set and where our busses would leave to Hobbiton. We had some time to do shopping at I-Site and take pictures.

Itse I-Site oli jo kuin pala taivasta eli Hobittilaa, vietimme siellä puoli tuntia jonka aikana kamera tykitti siihen malliin että siitä, sekä Hobittilasta lisää seuraavassa postauksessa! Joudun mahdollisesti jakamaan Hobittilankin postauksen kahteen osaan, koska kuvia on paljon ja illalla meille tuli yllätyksiä toisensa perään ... ;)
I-Site were also like a piece of heaven = Hobbiton! We were there about 30min, so plenty of time to get crazy about everything. We took lots of photos in I-Site so next post will be about I-Site and Hobbiton! I also have LOTS photos of Hobbiton so I might need to make two different posts about it too. Specially because we got some surprises during the evening in there ... ;)
